"Flint House" A Chilling Psychological Ghost Story

Flint House, a new book by Nancetta Liles, is a thinking person's Southern gothic novel. A young woman becomes enmeshed in voodoo, slavery and ghosts when she arrives at Flint House, a mysterious mansion built in the 1700s.

Do ghosts exist? And if so, what messages do they reveal and why? Flint House is a thrilling ghost story by author Nancetta Liles. Set in the deep South, it tells the story of Rhian Montrose, a woman with a history of nervous breakdowns, who is hired to care for a woman and her mansion. But when the ghosts of slaves begin appearing, Rhian begins to learn the history of the house, one fraught with voodoo, slavery and unspeakable cruelty. Can she free the house from its curse and lead the ghosts back into the light? And can she also heal herself?

Gorgeously written, and beautifully told, Flint House is filled with characters so rich and alive, they seem to walk off the page. But more than a great ghost tale, the novel is also about a woman coming into her own and learning to trust her strength and her instincts.

For anyone who has ever experienced a chill at the back of his or her neck, or for skeptics who simply adore a good ghost story, Flint House is as entertaining as it is terrifying.

Nancetta Liles established two animal welfare organizations in her area, the Asheville Humane Society and the Humane Alliance Spay/Neuter clinic, as well as one organization aimed at homeless people with pets, the Anna Marie Goodman Fund. She lives in Etowah, North Carolina.
