The creator of "The Amazing Nut Milk Bag" shares her recipes in a new, free e-book.

Vegetarian Delights Too Cute to Eat Now Available for Vegans

Vegans can rejoice. The new release of Klassic Koalas: Vegetarian Delights Too Cute to Eat offers a free PDF download of vegan updates to recipes in the book, so that everyone can enjoy the treats it offers. The 16 page update, Vegan Delights, is available at www.koalajo.com.

The vegan recipes in Vegan Delights have been provided by Elaina Love, a professional chef and instructor at the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute and owner of "Café Soulstice" in San Mateo, California. Love, who offers more information on healthy eating and raw foods on her website, www.purejoyplanet.com, used her expertise to devise delicious vegan alternatives for the koala delights in the book. These vegan recipes are provided free of charge as a PDF download, so everyone can now indulge their sweet tooth or appetite without worrying about animal-sourced ingredients.

From cupcakes to chocolates, cookies to tea sandwiches, the delectable recipes in Klassic Koalas: Vegetarian Delights Too Cute to Eat now let you add everyone's favorite marsupial to any social event--from children's parties (think koala cookies, pancakes, or birthday cake) to grown-up gatherings (everything from pizza and bean dip to hors d'oeuvres and even pasta salad.) And it's all guilt- and cruelty-free.

If you're stumped for a party treat, there's plenty to choose from. Try Koala Forest Pizzas, winsome delights that use black olives for noses and scallion rounds for ears. No time to cook? Try Koala-ty Bean Dip, a layered treat of guacamole, sour cream, refried beans, and cheese made in a teddy bear pan and embellished with olives, bay leaves, and tomatoes. Vegan substitutes for the sour cream and cheese are included in the free download.

If you're longing for sweets, try Chokoala-ty Desserts, Delectable Collectible (made with marzipan in the shape of a koala), or the Van Gogh-licious Cake. To keep kids occupied, let them decorate Koala Face Cookies, or make Mushrooms on Brooms. A sleepover menu will get a definite lift from Koala Face Sandwiches and breakfast with Koala Pancakes.

Imaginative and tasty, these concoctions include many easy enough to entice the timid, and a few that will challenge the artistry of anyone who likes to experiment in the kitchen. Clear instructions and recipes are accompanied by color photographs showing just how appetizing and appealing these culinary projects are. Included are tips for creating many other animal shapes, such as that of a dog, cat, monkey, and bear. There's also a list of resources in the back where ambitious readers can find the specialty items used in preparation of a few of the recipes.

The vegan options available in the download may spark your creativity in other ways, too, even if you're not vegan. After all, if you can go vegan for koalas, why not for other dishes, too?

You and your family will have fun creating these winsome treats. Of course, you may find some truly Too Cute to Eat!
