Series Reveals the Secret Life of Mary Magdalene
A new series of novels, The Magdalene Chronicles, begins with Book One: The Followers of the Magdalene, which delves into the mystery of Mary Magdalene and the age-long forces rallied against her. As the story opens we meet Maddy Whitaker, a young American archaeologist who inherits a French estate from a grandmother she has never known. As the mystery of her ancestry unfolds, Maddy uncovers, layer by layer, ancient secrets and societies, and what lies behind them all--an age-long conspiracy and a plot to rule the world. "Who is going to stand against him? No, we needn't worry about Maddy Whitaker and her bloodline. No one would believe her if she brought it to the public notice anyway. There are too many people who would stand against her and her family's beliefs. Even the Jewish people would be in an uproar against her. Our man, now, no one can doubt his bloodline. With his parentage, he is descended from all of the tribes of Israel. He is the rightful King of Jerusalem and, as such, he is the only person that should rule the united countries of the world."
With the public's seemingly endless fascination with Mary Magdalene, The Magdalene Chronicles, like The Da Vinci Code, explores the subject of this enigmatic follower of the Christ and her descendants, seeking to unearth exciting truths that may yet lie hidden under the dust of centuries. Author Suzen Wuerth's knowledge of languages and religions, combined with her interests in Biblical archeology and prophecy, has enabled her to create a work of historically based fiction that only serves to make the mystery even more compelling. Ancient myths and legends surrounding the enigmatic beginning of Christianity are cleverly woven into this first book of the series.
Suzen Wuerth is a Southern writer whose garage doubles as a research library, she says, because she never turns down a chance to learn something new about the past. She and her husband of 30-plus years are extensive travelers. They have two sons and one long-awaited grandson. Wuerth is a native of Savannah, Georgia, who divides her time between the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.
