Al Gore's Son Arrested for Drug Possession
On Wednesday at 2:15 a.m., PDT the son of former Vice President Al Gore, Albert Gore III, was pulled over by the Orange County Sheriff's Department in California for driving about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway. During the stop, the deputy smelled marijuana and proceeded to search the car, which contained a small amount of marijuana along with the prescription drugs Valium, Xanax, Vicodin, and Adderall. Gore was arrested on suspicion of drug possession. According to the Sherrif's Department, Gore did not have prescriptions for any of the drugs found with him at the time of the arrest.
Gore was booked in Santa Ana and was released on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. PDT on a $20,000 bond. He had previously been arrested in 2003 for marijuana possession and in 2002 for suspected drunken-driving. In 1989, when six years old, the younger Gore almost died after being hit by a car. That injury required extensive surgery and physical therapy.
A spokesman for the former Vice President said he was traveling and was not immediately available for comment. The 2000 Democratic presidential hopeful who lost to George W.
