Is time about to run out for "Journeyman?" Are fans of the show about to take their last quantum leap? Perhaps, says creator Kevin Falls, but it's not yet written in stone.
"Journeyman" Creator Kevin Falls Speaks About the Show's Chances of Cancellation
NBC's time-travel drama, Journeyman, which airs Mondays at 10 PM, has quickly earned a cult following, but the cult isn't growing rapidly enough for the network, with rumors abounding that the series may end its journey sooner than later. "Episode 12 is the end of our order," revealed the show's creator, Kevin Falls, in an exclusive interview with Bullz-Eye.com. "If…and let's not kid ourselves, it's a long shot that we would get a back nine, given the (writer's) strike and our questionable numbers…but we wrote it in a way so it could be the series-ending show. I mean, it wouldn't answer every question, but it would give you a lot to chew on."
The greater concern for Journeyman fans, however, is Falls' further revelation that NBC currently has no place on its schedule for the aforementioned twelfth episode.
"We've got this Episode 12 dangling out there, and I don't know if it'll ever see the light of day on the network," admits Falls. "What makes us so frustrated is that, at a time when writers are striking and networks need programming, why on earth would you not find a place for Episode 12? And that's the question for which nobody seems to have an answer."
Despite the scheduling uncertainty, Falls remains convinced that the series could yet be saved if enough viewers tune in. "NBC said this morning, it ain't over," he acknowledged. "I mean, they're gonna look at those numbers for these next three shows on Monday nights. And I know we're being aired in December, which has a history of low viewership because everybody's out Christmas shopping or traveling, so those numbers won't be high. But our fans should know that the show's still gonna be on, and if they rally around it, it doesn't have to happen. I mean, look at Jericho."
