World Hypnotism Day - January 4, 2008

January 4 is the day when professionals in the field of hypnotism from various organizations around the world will be sharing expertise and promoting the truths and benefits of hypnotism. This year marks the fourth annual World Hypnotism Day and with New Year resolutions facing us, the timing is perfect. At this year's free seminar, hosted by Dr. Georgina Cannon of the Ontario Hypnosis Centre, she explains that you can learn to beat the Resolution Blues and succeed at your goals.

The first World Hypnotism Day in January of 2005 proved to one of the most impressive displays of professionalism and sharing of knowledge and skills by hypnotists globally. Talks, interviews, workshops and articles were available around the world. Now it's time to come out and learn more about how hypnotism can help you, especially for your New Years resolutions. This free seminar on hypnosis will cover topics such as what it is, how it works, what it can be used for as well as how we all use self-hypnosis without knowing it.

This event takes place in Toronto at the Comfort Suites (200 Dundas Street East) in the Mullock Room (2nd Floor) from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants can register by e-mail at info@ontariohypnosiscentre.com or by calling 416.489.0333. Dr. Cannon will be available for interviews from 5:30 p.m.-6:45 p.m.

About Hypnotism Hypnotism is a safe and effective intervention for a variety of motivational, self-improvement and goal setting situations. It is natural and free of side effects, and when performed by a competent certified practitioner the results are long lasting and often permanent.

The National Guild of Hypnotists has ethical guidelines, to which all members must adhere and hold to the ideal that hypnotism should be practiced in a free and open manner in line with all national and regional requirements. NGH Hypnotists are not practicing medical or mental health doctors (unless additional credentials are held by the member hypnotist). Hypnotists do not diagnose disease, but can help as an adjunct to conventional medical or mental health interventions. They have our own unique non-diagnostic language, which they use with clients in order to help them achieve their desired changes.
