What's Kabbalah Got To Do With It?

Posted on Thursday, January 31, 2008 - 02:00 PM

This day long workshop promises to teach you everything you ever wanted to know about Kabbalah but were afraid to ask.

What's Kabbalah Got To Do With It?

For anyone who has ever wondered if Kabbalah is relevant in his or her life should, without a doubt, join Sinai Live at A Day of Kabbalah. This full-day event held at the JCC in Manhattan will present world-class scholars from around the U.S., Israel and even Australia, to express just how powerful and valuable its philosophy is.

"What should I expect from A Day of Kabbalah?" The expectations should be high. It is a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from selected top teachers all under one roof in an anticipated crowd of 250 plus. A Day of Kabbalah will give each individual the opportunity to get questions answered - on spirituality, on life, on self, on love. It will be the ultimate experience of learning, socializing and growth. Now is the time to fulfill curiosity on this often quoted, but generally misunderstood tradition.

And in its fourth year, the event will focus on the unique teachings of Rabbi Isaac Luria (1534-1572) who is one of the most influential and respected Kabbalist of all time. This program will be of interest for everyone from the novice to the religion scholar, from the skeptic to the soul-seeker. Tailored to the unique level of each participant, we will offer various learning tracks and a wide range of courses to choose from. Everyone will leave A Day of Kabbalah mindfully satisfied.

"We hope that at the end of this day, to have made a major impact on each individual and ignite their own inner spark. I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to attract such an inspiring group of teachers," says Rabbi Naftali Citron of the Carlebach Shul, sponsor of A Day of Kabbalah.

You can find Kabbalah books and posters at The Unicorn Shoppe, the online store for AlternativeApproaches.com.

What makes this Kabbalah event different from all others? To begin with, all the incredible speakers such as David Solomon, Avraham Sutton, Naftali Citron and Mindy Ribner! The intention is to educate and motivate. Participants will receive the opportunity to meet with the speakers on a one-to-one basis and ask questions directly during and between classes. The program also provides the opportunity to socialize with like-minded people and the organizers of the event. Yet, the best part that makes this event truly different is the accessibility to choose the courses of interest. We plan to ensure that everyone leaves satisfied and will want to return next year.

"This is a great opportunity to gather all the great minds of Kabbalistic thought to shed light on this often quoted but commonly misunderstood spiritual teaching," says Mark Pearlman, founder of Sinailive.com and co-sponsor of A Day of Kabbalah. "If you were doing an 'American Idol search' of the best Kabbalist teachers, these would be the final contestants."

A Day of Kabbalah will be held at The JCC in Manhattan (334 Amsterdam Avenue@ 76 St.) on the Upper West Side on Feb. 10th from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. No prior experience or religious affiliation is necessary. The event is hosted by The Carlebach Shul and co-sponsored by The JCC in Manhattan and SinaiLive.com. Registration begins at 9:30 am the day of, or in advance online at www.jccmanhattan.org/makom or by calling 646.505.5708; $40/person advanced purchase, $55/person at door (if available).
