Film "Back From The Edge" Dedicated to Edmund Hillary

Canadian businessman, Werner Berger, is the oldest North American to have summitted Mount Everest, and the tallest mountain on each of the seven continents (known as the Seven Summits). Berger credits famed mountaineer, Edmund Hillary as the inspiration for overcoming "the impossible." In 1953, along with his climbing partner Tenzing Norgay, Hillary climbed up the now famous, "Hillary Steps" and reached the summit of Mount Everest.

Hillary, who passed away last month, was the first person in history to summit Mount Everest and is now being honored by having the motion picture Back From The Edge dedicated to him and his ability to inspire others and overcome the impossible.

In 2006, Werner reached the summit of Mt. McKinley, North America's highest peak. This was preceded by successful summits of Mt. Aconcagua (South America), Mt.Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt. Elbrus (Europe), Vinson Massif (Antarctica) and Mt. Kosciuzsko (Australia). These experiences, in addition to years of training, prepared him for the ultimate challenge, the summiting of Mt. Everest.

Berger has found that his age is not a big factor in his ability to climb and summit mountains. "I believe that my age has nothing to do with my abilities. I don't even know what being 69 years old feels like and with the expedition to Mount Everest, I hope to show people that they can make it to the top of their own health and wellness goals," Berger said.

Werner Berger is one of those special people who is looking to help others, and as part of the expedition, and his life, he is producing the new motion picture Back From The Edge, a film that is both entertaining and educational and speaks to the personal choices everyone can make when it comes to optimizing their health and wellness. The film takes an in-depth look at why no new cures for any major disease has been discovered in almost 50 years and why North Americans are sicker and fatter than ever, even with better diagnostics and medications.

When asked why the film is being dedicated to Hillary, Berger said, "When we were lying in our tents awaiting our departure hour, Sir Edmund's image loomed very large and I remembered, 54 years earlier he and Tensing Norgay were here in the South Col, and on that day they pioneered the path to the top of the world. No one had ever done it before. No one knew it could be done. What an inspiration they were. I thought, 'If they can do it, pioneering this route, surely I too have a chance not only to reach the summit, but to bring the message of better health to millions of people who don't know what they're capable of.'"

"Werner has always had a passion for wellness and the outdoors. He took his first back packing trip into the Himalayas at age of 57. He has never looked back. He has achieved all his mountain climbing goals to date, and now has another summit ahead of him, producing and distributing a major film about health and wellness in an era replete with sickness and despair.

For today's busy executives, homemakers, students, and others Werner hopes his summit of Mount Everest sets an example to prove that good health is within everyone's grasp, no matter their age, or experience.
