| Sedona New Age maven Albert Clayton Gaulden hopes to hit the ball out of park with "You're Not Who You Think You Are," scheduled for release this fall.
Gaulden's Approach to Spirituality Strokes a Chord with Simon and Schuster
World-renowned astro-intuitive, author, transpersonal psychologist and founding director of the Sedona Intensive, Albert Clayton Gaulden bucks trends of "same old" flowery New Age platitudes with his new book, You're Not Who You Think You Are, to be published by Simon & Schuster this year.

"Can it be that who we think we are is absolutely and unequivocally wrong? Perhaps for some, but for virtually everyone? A resounding 'Yes,'" says Gaulden.
As the title implies, the book challenges the always fragile ego directly, Gaulden is clearly someone not to mince words or pull punches. And in direct contradiction to the "I'm okay, you're okay," "It's all in divine order," and "You're perfect as who you are" motifs that pervade the New Age/Self-Help/Spirituality genres, Gaulden contends that everything in life is an illusion, until we discover our authentic selves.
"By this I mean the truth," said Gaulden, "something that most people are unconsciously adverse to by virtue of the deified notion that 'being right' is 'the truth.' But this couldn't be further from the truth. Being right (and righteousness) is a derivative of the ego. Truth is divine. They're totally opposite on the spectrum of human experience."
Originally self-published as 259-page hardback, Gaulden has already sold several thousand copies of You're Not Who You Think You Are. "Simon and Schuster is redesigning the cover for the fall launch, and since I still have some of the original versions, I decided to give them away off the Internet for free, while they last," Gaulden said. "This way people can have the chance to get to know me better - warts and all - and decide whether an 'Intensive' is right for them."
"The marketing department is real excited about the possibilities for You're Not Who You Think You Are. It is one of the best titles we have published in quite some time," says Johanna Castillo, a senior editor at Simon and Schuster.
