Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde announce the formation of their new Record Label, TBO Records Ltd., for the release of the concept anthology album "ARK-eology," their first new album in 25 years. Along with long time business associate and music industry veteran Bob Heinlein, TBO Records, the bob organization, was formed to market and distribute the recordings of Chad & Jeremy worldwide.
Chad & Jeremy Start New Label For "ARK-eology"
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of their last album for Columbia Records, The Ark, Chad & Jeremy now release ARK-eology , a newly recorded tribute to their legendary classic albums The Ark and Of Cabbages And Kings, favorites long sought after by collectors and fans worldwide. Produced by Chad Stuart, the album is the 25th release of the duo, as they revisit eighteen of the most popular recordings from over a dozen worldwide LP releases in their impressive catalog. The new CD, available now, is the first in a series of new releases planned for the Chad & Jeremy catalog.
From 1964 to 1967, Chad & Jeremy had eleven U.S. hit singles and over seventeen worldwide releases. In the ensuing years, the music of Chad & Jeremy has been re-released on over thirty-three albums around the world.
Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde met at drama school in 1960 and soon began playing folk clubs in London where they were discovered by famed movie composer, John Barry. They became a sensation in America riding the wave of the British Invasion with eleven Top 40 hits including "Summer Song," "Yesterday's Gone," "Willow Weep for Me," and "Distant Shores."
According to Chad Stuart, "Before we embarked on a new album with new songs, it was important to set the record straight as far as our catalogue was concerned. We've had seven albums released over the years and none of this catalogue is available for down-load. Personally, I'm glad that's the case! With the possible exception of the last two Columbia albums, the old recordings don't stand up today. They just don't. They were created in what Jeremy calls the dark ages of recording, an era when we were hustled into the studio by our elders and betters and expected to come up with an album in a ridiculously short space of time with no leeway to second guess, re-record or question whether or not a particular track was good enough to be included in the first place. It was a race against the clock, hardly an ideal way to come up with a hit, much less a recording that would stand the test of time. ARK-eology was recorded at home at our own pace. It took a while but so what? It's here now. We called it ARK-eology because 2008 is the 40th anniversary of the release of our last Columbia album, The Ark."
TBO Records Ltd. is a hybrid record label which combines 20 years experience as a record retailer with the new realities of the digital age. The company uses a combination of Online and Retail availability for its target market, including Amazon Worldwide, iTunes, and several nationwide independent distributors.
