Book Probes the Nature of Jesus and Mankind
Free Will and the Divine Nature of Humans by John S. Talbot is a provocative look at what free will implies about the basic spirituality of humanity. He suggests that if people have free will, then they can't be totally subject to the material laws of the universe, and are, instead, transcendent beings. So if Jesus was really human and not God, Almighty, as a careful reading of the New Testament implies, then his divine transformation in the desert could be available to everyone.
