What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? Mix Love and Alchemy on New CD
Boston neo-cabaret band What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? plays with love, identity, sexuality, and alchemy on its latest CD, And Other Stories. The band has been a staple in the Boston underground cabaret scene since the early 2000's, sharing stages with bands like The Dresden Dolls, HUMANWINE (in which members of Mr. Fox moonlight) and in the seminal Boston Burlesque Association. On November 15th, the band will be joined by the high antics of Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band, the dark romantic Calycadenia and a quintet from the acclaimed string orchestra, A Far Cry. The night will also feature an animated short from award-winning film-maker Ruth Lingford, numerous special guest performers and various fiends in fox masks. The CD is available for sale at performances, CDBaby.com, eMusic.com and iTunes.

A Dalhousie University math professor solves the mystery behind the opening chord to The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" using mathematical principles like the Fourier transform.
The Mystery of a "Hard Day's Night's" Unknown Chord
It’s the most famous chord in rock 'n' roll, an instantly recognizable twang rolling through the open strings on George Harrison’s 12-string Rickenbacker. It evokes a Pavlovian response from music fans as they sing along to the refrain that follows:
"It’s been a hard day’s night
And I’ve been working like a dog"

Arlo Guthrie teams up with the Dillards to record some of Woody Guthrie's best songs.
32¢ Postage Due by Arlo Guthrie with the Dillards
Over ten years ago Arlo Guthrie entered the studio in Branson, Missouri, to record a traditional album of his father Woody's most enduring songs. Woody Guthrie was fêted in 1998 by the U.S. Postal Service, having a thirty-two cent postage stamp issued in his honor, and Arlo surmised the timing was ideal for his CD 32¢/Postage Due to be a celebration of that high distinction.

Here we go again folks. Seems like some things just won't go away. It's been 41 years since "Sgt. Pepper," and some people still believe Paul is dead. We guess that leaves Ringo as the last Beatle standing (or was it Ringo that Lorne Greene killed-off in the song that bears The Beatles drummer's name?).
New Song Solves Urban Legend: Is Paul Dead?
A college English professor and Americana Luke Powers songwriter sorts through the evidence of the world's greatest urban legend - that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by an impostor or fake labeled "Faul." Powers comes to an amazing conclusion in song.

With the world's eyes turned towards China for the start of this week's Olympic Games, ears turn towards two albums from today's Chinese punk-rock scene. This is underground China.
China's Underground Music Scene
When Chicago-based musician, producer and label owner Martin Atkins visited Beijing in the fall of 2006, he had no idea what to expect. What he found was a thriving underground culture of rock bands that reminded him of his time in London in the late '70s, and of the downtown scene in early '80s NYC. He signed several bands while he was there, shot 80 hours of video footage, and rented out High End Sound Studios, where he recorded tracks from well over a dozen bands. He recorded live shows at the D-22 club - a venue that embodies the spirit that CBGBs had when Martin arrived in NYC over 25 years ago - just as news of the final show at the legendary NY nightclub was breaking on CNN.
