Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Phish, Grateful Dead & Others on Live Download Compilation to Benefit Rock The Earth

Music download site nugs.net has assembled an all-star compilation of exclusive live tracks to raise money for several Rock The Earth campaigns to defend the United States' environmental resources. nugs.net's artist partners donated the recordings for this compilation, including an exclusive release from Jack Johnson. Other artists contributing to the benefit compilation include Widespread Panic, The Disco Biscuits, The Radiators, The String Cheese Incident, Phish, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews Band, Gov't Mule, STS9, Zero, Umphrey's McGee, Grateful Dead, moe., and ALO. nugs.net and the 15 artists featured on the benefit release organized this compilation out of their dedication to providing continued support for the worldwide environmental community.

Harmony, Respect and Healing Abide in CD and DVD by Native American Performer

Kenneth Little Hawk has a new CD, and a new DVD, of inspirational and healing music.

Millions have heard the Native American flute music of Kenneth Little Hawk through his recordings, films, and live performances. His Native flute sound can be heard in the award-winning films Lewis & Clark and The West, directed by the highly acclaimed director Ken Burns. Little Hawk has performed with many world class musicians, including the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Westchester Philharmonic. He has also recorded 5 albums over the past 10 years and is known for spreading his message of harmony throughout the world. Over the years, he has performed at distinguished venues such as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the National Theatre and the American Museum of Natural History. In 1998, he was invited to meet President Clinton at the White House for a special screening of Lewis & Clark and performed in the East Wing.

The Internet, which didn’t even exist a decade ago, is changing everything. Take the music industry for example. It used to be that if you started a record company, your chances of competing with “the majors” were slim to none, no matter how good your product. The big boys had the big bucks, and they used them to stifle competition. A small label had no chance of getting their tapes and CDs in the stores, much less getting them played on the radio. All of that’s changed now, thanks to the influence of the World Wide Web. These days, if you can’t find a deal to get your music distributed, you can sell it yourself in cyberspace. With a little luck (and a little marketing savvy), you might even find yourself becoming a force to be reckoned with.
