Laurie Conrad on The Spiritual Life of Animals and Plants
by Diana Souza
Laurie Conrad is a divine healer who works with the Distant Healing Network, a group of healers from around the world who send healing to anyone who requests it. She is also the author of The Spiritual Life of Animals and Plants a collection of true stories. The book speaks of miracles and healings, as well as the innate spirituality of animals. The author is giving a large percentage of her profits to animal protection organisations. For more information on the Ms. Conrad or hef book go to the Figaro Books web site. This interview took place on September 9, 2001 in Ithaca, New York.
DS: You’ve written a book of true stories about how you began to sense the spiritual lives of animals by observing them closely in your everyday life. Laurie, why did you write this book?
LC: For many reasons. One reason, certainly, is the hope that if people understood that animals and plants have a spiritual life, it might make it more difficult for people to mistreat them.

Editor's note: This article was intended to be published before the Venus transit earlier this summer. However, since we feel that the information contained in this article is somewhat timeless, and might be of value to some of our readers, we are publishing it at this time.
The Venus Transit and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life
by Carl Johan Calleman
In a series of articles I have discussed the spiritual context for the upcoming Oneness Celebration at the Venus Transit early this summer. Yet another aspect that also deserves to be discussed is the astronomical and scientific importance of the transit. The history of observations of Venus Transits essentially goes back to 1639 when a Venus Transit was, as far as we know, for the first time directly observed. Yet, already in 1631 an observation had been attempted based on a prediction made by the German astronomer Johannes Kepler from his three laws of planetary movements. In and by itself this was at the time an important feat, since it meant the first direct verification of these laws, which were the first mathematical laws of nature known to man. In a sense then the correct prediction about the exact timing of these Venus Transits served to cement the new scientific world view. This emerged as humanity came to be influenced by the Thirteenth Heaven of the Mayan Long Count that was established in 1617. In science it should be possible to make predictions about the future and the Venus Transit of1639 was maybe its first tangible success.

Karma Chameleon
by Christine Hall
Never think that you've escaped your karma. The law of cause and effect, which pretty much defines karma, is immutable. And like the Lord, karma can work in mysterious ways. Take a series of events that happened to me as example.

DS: It seems that the greatest of all gifts that have come to you through your sixth sense has been your realization of what you call divine love. What do you mean by divine love?
LC: My perception of divine love, perhaps, is the result of my clairvoyance - I’m not sure that one has to be clairvoyant to sense that divine presence... Actually, I don’t think so...

Embrace Each Child and You Embrace Yourself
by Dr. Darryl Pokea
In every adult there lurks a child - an eternal child, something that is always becoming, is never completed, and calls for unceasing care, attention, and education. That is the part of the human personality which wants to develop and become whole. Carl Jung
At the center of the universe is a loving heart that continues to beat and that wants the best for every person. Anything we can do to help foster the intellect and spirit and emotional growth of our fellow human beings, that is our job. Those of us who have this particular vision must continue against all odds. Life is for service. The late Fred Rogers (of "Mister Rogers" TV)
We each know what genuine respect and reverence feels like in our minds and bodies. As we know it, so too our children know it. They continually attempt to show each of us their comfort level with the “matters” of this world. All of us adults have a choice in deciding how much we participate in responding with indifference or with peaceful expansive kindness. Our choices affect our children even more than they do our fellow adults. We each are continually modeling avenues to deal with conflict and stress in our world. The violence in our schools and events of “9-11” all point to the necessity of remaining connected to one another. While we remain conscious of the events occurring in this world, we also can actively reflect on our attitudes, feelings and thoughts. They do “matter” and those matters are easily passed onto the minds and bodies of our children.

The World Shift Favoring The East, The Feminine & The Disintegration Of Islam
by Carl Johan Calleman
From the perspective of the cosmic plan and the Mayan calendar the Oneness Celebration takes places at a very significant point in time. In the Galactic Underworld we are approaching the Seventh Heaven beginning on December 4 of 2004, when the World Tree once again will start to make itself known and this time it will favor the Eastern Hemisphere and the right brain half. The Oneness Celebration includes the day (June 6, 4 Ahau), when the current NIGHT reaches its midpoint and the approach to dawn begins.

A Church On A Hill
by David Jenneson
Although it was now long into the afternoon, we had been stuck hitch hiking on the same spot since early morning.
We shuffled on the roadside to keep warm. It was late August of 1967. somewhere between Wawa and White River in Northern Canada. We were trying to get back clear across the continent, west to Vancouver on the Pacific coast, with twenty cents in our pockets. That was twenty cents each, mind you.

Are Dolphins Really Teachers?
by Takara
From a purely biological perspective, dolphins are air-breathing mammals that inhabit the ocean. They have the ability to swim so fast they can propel themselves out of the water and perform somersaults. They also make funny little clicking sounds. Although interesting, that information hardly explains why many humans find them so fascinating that it borders on obsession.

"Don't Let The Quantum Weirdness Bite You"
by Michael Lamas
Every religious, philosophical, or political belief system attempts to define reality. It tells us what is real. On a larger scale, society embodies and synthesizes a multitude of these beliefs. This creates a culture, which provides a common understanding or "common sense" of How It Is (for that group). A country's form of government usually influences the homogeneity of beliefs within a culture: the more restrictive the government, the stronger the demand for a single, dogmatic picture of reality.
