33 Tools for Enlightenment
by Rabbi Max Weiman
Enlightenment is not a fixed level of being, nor is it a black and white accomplishment. It is a ladder on which we can all move to a higher rung.
These tools can be done anytime and anywhere. Do each one for as long or short a time as you feel is appropriate. If there are some you don’t relate to, skip them. The more you do the better, and the longer you spend on each one the better. They are based on a particular methodology taught to me by my teacher, that focuses on different facets of your personality.

The Harrowing of Logan Circle
Parts I & II
by Vincent Bridges
One
The full moon hung low in the southeast, shining pale and thin through the smog and the city lights, as we drove up Thirteenth Street and circled, widdershins as all traffic must, the local heart of darkness, a portal to the realm of shells, the Qlipot of the Kabbalists, and the antechamber of the undead. Think of it as Hell’s bus station, where the doomed go to wait for the Grim Reaper to catch up with his to-do list.

Don't Take Life So Seriously! (Have You Lost Touch With Your Life While You Are Trying To Find It?)
by Roy E. Klienwachter
Just over two weeks ago, I moved from the inner most point of Burrard Inlet, off the Pacific Coast of Canada; to a point along the south shore. Where I now live, the inlet is narrow, about ½ mile from shore to shore. The north shore rises gently from a narrow strip of homes to an uninhabited, forest covered mountain. I have lived in this area for the last 2 years. I have travelled the roads along the inlet for most of my life. I have not really notice the beauty of the inlet until recently.

 by Michael Lamas
Is there a purpose to life? Thoughtful people have asked this question
since ancient times. Because it's so basic to our being, you would
think that the answer would be simple and universal. Apparently, though,
it's neither simple nor universal.

God Disguised as You
by Michael Berg Excerpted from the book Becoming Like God
The guard at the prison gate is utterly ruthless. Brutal
treatment of prisoners has proceeded for millennia, so
now the prisoners are beaten, hopeless, huddling on
their cots, staring out through the bars of their cells. A
good day is simply one endured without pain.

The Burning of Washington
Another listless hurricane with an odd name (Gaston? Who ever heard of a storm named Gaston?) lashed the house with a desultory gust of warm rain and the faint and foreign scent of the tropics. Jemmy and Dolly, my ghostly guests, snuggled closer on the settee, and, raising their astral glasses of warm mulled port in a toast, offered to tell me the story of another August storm, when the fate of the nation hung on a fine thread of fate and coincidence.

Free Will In The New Age
by Christine Hall
She was rough around the edges, with lines deeply etched into her severe features, a cigarette dangling from her lips. Back in the 80s, or even the 90s, I would've figured her for a mill worker, but there aren't any factory jobs left around here any more. Most likely, she was a refuge, even though she was in her hometown.metown.

Laurie Conrad on The Spiritual Life of Animals and Plants
by Diana Souza
Laurie Conrad is a divine healer who works with the Distant Healing Network, a group of healers from around the world who send healing to anyone who requests it. She is also the author of The Spiritual Life of Animals and Plants a collection of true stories. The book speaks of miracles and healings, as well as the innate spirituality of animals. The author is giving a large percentage of her profits to animal protection organisations. For more information on the Ms. Conrad or hef book go to the Figaro Books web site. This interview took place on September 9, 2001 in Ithaca, New York.
DS: You’ve written a book of true stories about how you began to sense the spiritual lives of animals by observing them closely in your everyday life. Laurie, why did you write this book?
LC: For many reasons. One reason, certainly, is the hope that if people understood that animals and plants have a spiritual life, it might make it more difficult for people to mistreat them.

Editor's note: This article was intended to be published before the Venus transit earlier this summer. However, since we feel that the information contained in this article is somewhat timeless, and might be of value to some of our readers, we are publishing it at this time.
The Venus Transit and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life
by Carl Johan Calleman
In a series of articles I have discussed the spiritual context for the upcoming Oneness Celebration at the Venus Transit early this summer. Yet another aspect that also deserves to be discussed is the astronomical and scientific importance of the transit. The history of observations of Venus Transits essentially goes back to 1639 when a Venus Transit was, as far as we know, for the first time directly observed. Yet, already in 1631 an observation had been attempted based on a prediction made by the German astronomer Johannes Kepler from his three laws of planetary movements. In and by itself this was at the time an important feat, since it meant the first direct verification of these laws, which were the first mathematical laws of nature known to man. In a sense then the correct prediction about the exact timing of these Venus Transits served to cement the new scientific world view. This emerged as humanity came to be influenced by the Thirteenth Heaven of the Mayan Long Count that was established in 1617. In science it should be possible to make predictions about the future and the Venus Transit of1639 was maybe its first tangible success.

Karma Chameleon
by Christine Hall
Never think that you've escaped your karma. The law of cause and effect, which pretty much defines karma, is immutable. And like the Lord, karma can work in mysterious ways. Take a series of events that happened to me as example.
