For the sixth straight year, the Washington, D.C. area will be treated to the award-winning and largest South Asian Festival, the Zee Heritage India Festival, coming this June to Boyds, Md. With an average of attracting more than 15,000 people every year and having been rewarded many felicitations from State of Maryland, Montgomery County, State of New Jersey, Senators such as Barbara Mikulski and many more, the Zee festival promises to bring in more fun and festivities to residents of DC metro this year.

Oddly enough, animal rights groups seem to approve of this stunt. However, in this case, we must ask if the desired ends really justifies the means.

Nobody has given more to the peace movement in recent years – emotionally, physically, spiritually. And the warfare state took away her beloved son Casey.

The eagle owl is so rare that there are only two active nests in all of England. The owls, who are raising three chicks, have mainly been attacking hikers with dogs who near their nest.
Eagle Owl attacks force closure of footpath near nest site
A footpath in the pennine hills, England, has been closed after a number of attacks by a rare breeding pair of Eagle Owls, who have chosen to build their nest near the footpath near Dunsop Bridge, Bowland. The path runs between the nest site and a favourite perch of the adults.

Most states in the United States have already outlawed horse slaughter. Illinois was the last state with an operating slaughterhouse.

According to the Western Australian government, new regulations will cut greenhouse ommissions by 129,000 tons in five years, the equivalent of taking 30,000 automobiles out of service.
New environmental housing regulations for Western Australia
The Western Australian Government has announce that after September 1st 2007 all construction approvals for new homes must comply with new Enviromental regulations. The new regulations known as Five Star Plus will be implemented in two stages.

Seven French fishing boats surround and immobilize ocean conservation group's catamaran to take cameras that photographed their driftnetting activities. Attackers flee upon the arrival of two border-control and French Navy helicopters.
Fishery Research Vessel Attacked By Fleet of Illegal Driftnetters
Early Monday morning, a group of seven French driftnetters carried out a concerted attack on the Oceana Ranger fishery research vessel. The vessel was on its second week of research recording activities of about 80 French fishing boats using driftnets about 5 to 8 km in length, known as thonailles, to catch tuna and swordfish in the Gulf of León to the north of Corsica.

Hammerhead sharks can give birth without mating
According to marine biologists participating in a study between the United States and Ireland, DNA samples taken from a hammerhead shark, born in 2001, located in Omaha Nebraska at the Henry Doorly Zoo, show that the sharks mother performed a "virgin birth," or giving birth without mating.
