Object that fell through roof of New Jersey home not a meteorite
An object that fell through the roof of a New Jersey home in January was not a meteorite, according to Jeremy Delaney a geologist at Rutgers University. Instead, it appears the object was space junk, or orbital debris. "Basically, it's a piece of stainless steel. There's huge amounts of material that have been left by the various space programs of the world," said Delaney.

Editor's note: Let's face it, Paris Hilton is a spoiled brat. In fact, 45 days in the slammer would probably do her a lot of good (and we're usually not law & order types). In her case, however, we say that, for her sake, it's about time that she be made to take responsibility for her actions. BTW, inheriting a lot of money does not make one "a self-made millionaire." We offer this article mainly as social comment. In fact, if left up to us, we'd petition the good governor to double her sentence...
Paris Hilton Petition to the Honorable Governor Schwarzenegger Requesting That he Commute Paris' Sentence
Paris Hilton is a self-made millionaire through such ventures as a Billboard chart topping singer as well as the owner of her own record label, the star of her own highly rated television program, "The Simple Life" which has had high ratings for several years, a New York Times best selling author twice, and the entrepreneur behind clothing and perfume lines which are financially successful. One might deem a young woman at such a young age to be a workaholic. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides inspiration, beauty, and excitement to people all over the U.S. and the world.

SN 2006gy is the brightest, largest supernova ever discovered, scientists announced. The star is in the NGC 1260 galaxy, in the same direction as the constellation Perseus and may be a type of supernova previously predicted by theory but not observed. The conclusion was reached after extended observations of the supernova by both optical telescopes and X-ray telescopy. Currently, there are two possible explanations for the supernova's brightness, but both require the star in question to be at least a hundred times as massive as the sun. Although the supernova is brighter than SN 1987A, which was bright enough to be seen by the naked eye, SN 2006gy is too far away to be seen by the naked eye.
