The always controversial Chruch of Scientology may be charged in Belgium with being a "criminal organization." In addition, up to twelve individual members may face charges.

Belgium prosecutors have concluded an investigation into the activities of the Church of Scientology and are recommending that charges be filed against the church's European office, located in Brussels. Charges would include fraud, extortion and, according to a spokeswoman at the Federal Prosecutors Office, "They also face charges of being...a criminal organisation."
