Bruce Cockburn, a favorite in the counter-culture in the early seventies, and Nancy Griffith, who became known in the early days of MTV, will headline a concert of folk and roots music in March of 2008.

Bruce Cockburn and Nanci Griffith to Headline Second Annual Denver Folk & Roots Music Festival

After a successful start last March, the Denver Folk & Roots Music Festival has become the flagship of Swallow Hill's fundraising efforts. Showcasing six hours of live, world-class performers, the Festival has attracted audience from California to Maine. The Second Annual Denver Folk & Roots Music Festival will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, March 29, 2008, in one of the finest acoustic concert halls in the United States, the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, 950 13th St., Denver, Colo., 80204. Rare Harry Potter Books to be Auctioned by Jay Leno

The National Braille Press announced today that it has stored a valuable set of original Harry Potter books signed by author J.K. Rowling in a vault at Sovereign Bank in Boston. Rowling has personally donated the series that includes her distinctive signature on each copy, the only such series available in the U.S. Rowling recently donated a signed set in the U.K. to benefit a local charity, which auctioned them off for almost $40,000. On October 26, Rowling is being honored by the National Braille Press and her priceless books will be auctioned off to benefit the non profit organization that produces the Harry Potter books in braille.

Titan’s Icy Climate Mimics Earth’s Tropics

If space travelers ever visit Saturn's largest moon, they will find a tropical world where temperatures plunge to minus 274 degrees Fahrenheit, methane rains from the sky and dunes of ice or tar cover the planet's most arid regions. These conditions reflect a cold mirror image of Earth's tropical climate, according to scientists at the University of Chicago.
