If you think that the Republicans have nasty things to say about the Democrats, you should see what the Dems have to say about and to each other! This is a site of blogs (or diaries, as the Kos folks like to call them) about issues and concerns of Democrats - mainly extreme liberal or progressive Democrats. Often they're nice to one another, but just as often the gloves come off and a real Donkey fight breaks out, making politics more entertaining than we ever thought it could be. We give it Five out of Five Stars!

We've been fans of Mother Jones magazine since the good old hippy days - and this is the online site of the print magazine. Not only can Mother Jones be counted upon to bring you the latest news of the day in a radical wrapper, it does so with credibility. All articles are well researched, and written by some of the best known writers the left has to offer. We give it Five out of Five Stars!

This site bills itself as "the oldest political news site on the Internet." As you might presume from it's name, it leans a little to the left. The news on the site is okay, but what really distinguishes this site is the commentary. Unfortunately, we're not too sure what a site like this accomplishes. Those of us who're on the left don't need to be convinced. And it's unlikely that any neocoms will will have a great aha and realize that Cheney and company are indeed evil. We still come here though, mainly to get tidbits, like Bush telling congressional Republicans that "the constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper." We have to give it Five out of Five Stars!

This site allows you to sign a petition to vote to impeach Bush and Cheney. The site also has lots of news on the political front, especially from the growing antiwar movement. By our way of reckoning, the last two presidential elections were stolen from us. In fact, the 2000 election made us look like a two-bit dictatorship sort of country, rather than the standard bearer in the world of democracy. The Coalition for Visable Ballots is a watchdog group that has been made necessary by the new political reality - and they're not very happy with congress' latest efforts to curb voter fraud. In our humble opinion, marijuana and other psychotropic drugs are sacrements and the government has no business regulating them! This rather new site is dedicated to the cultivation of marijuana, and claims that they fight for the legalization of marijuana by teaching people to grow. We put this site under politics, since we figure that smoking pot is a political statement. At least it was in our day.

Although it was Patrick Henry who uttered the phrase "If this be treason, make the most of it," we can't help think that the title of this blog is also intended as a dig at the neocon we all love to laugh at, Ann Coulter, who's accused everyone left of Dick Cheney of being a traitor. Anyway, we stray. This site's slogan, "Blogging from the front lines of the culture war," says it all. The site was founded by Storm Bear Williams, who creates the comic strip "Town Called Dobson" at the bottom of our home page. Since early in 2007, the site has been owned and published by Alternative Approaches.
